Kerry is a practicing Victoria building inspector with 22 years experience fully certified by the Canadian Association of House & Property Inspectors (CAHPI). He is also a third generation Victoria builder and has constructed condominium buildings and a number of multi-million dollar homes. Much of Kerry’s construction experience (15 years) involved the assessment and repair of defective buildings with the former New Home Warranty Program of BC & the Yukon.
All inspections are conducted in full compliance with the CAHPI Standards of Practice. This will involve an examination of the major components of the building such as the electrical, plumbing and heating systems, the building structure, roofing, chimneys and fireplaces, general site conditions, quality of construction and material selection, any propensity the building may have to develop pest or insect infestations, air quality or mold issues, evidence of buried oil tanks, flooding, potential for envelope failure.
The inspection results will be fully documented in a written report including photographs of significant items and a list maintenance and repair recommendations.
